I’m Nathan Burrows, a writer based in Norwich, United Kingdom. Thanks for taking the time to visit my site and have a look round.
I read a lot – probably too much – and English was about the only thing I was any good at when I was at school. It took me a while, but this year I finally started to take writing seriously. I’ve released two books so far, have another two in the pipeline, and have just started a distance learning MA in Creative Writing. I also own a miniature Daschund called ‘Bertie’.
My debut novel was Blind Justice, a British legal thriller set in East Anglia. It tells the tale of a man who has been wrongly imprisoned for murder, and his fight for freedom. I released it in April 2018, and followed it up in August 2018 with The Butcher – a very dark comedy that will change the way you look at sausages forever!
They are both very different books – but who said writing was easy? My first manuscript was a thriller about military medics working in Afghanistan in 2006. The concept of the book was that they’re saving lives on the battlefield, and someone was murdering the casualties in the supposed safety of the field hospital. Like most authors, the manuscript was shelved in a virtual bottom drawer. At some point, I’ll come back to it.
Writing that book helped me realise that I could actually write. So I learned from all the mistakes I made, and started writing Blind Justice. Then came The Butcher. There are sequels to both in the pipeline, and ultimately they will both be trilogies even though they are in different genres.
